Police have heaped praise on the efforts our very own Good Samaritan who rushed to the aid of a man who had been injured in a crash in Stockton Heath.

Adam Eeles, our Stockton Heath Manager, went to help the man who was believed to be suffering from a broken leg after being knocked down in a car crash on Thursday. Adam is no stranger to dealing with emergencies after working as a community first responder for four years.

But even though Adam was not on call, he still dropped everything to provide assistance to the man.

He said: “I just heard this loud bang outside and when I poked my head out of the window I just saw lots of people running about.

“I saw someone on the floor and I could see he was in a bad way – his leg was broken.

“I asked my colleague from the office to get my bag from the car.

“He was bleeding quite heavily so I bandaged him up.”

Adam waited with the injured man until paramedics arrived and he was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Police have confirmed officers attended the scene shortly after 10am following reports a 45-year-old man had suffered ‘serious injuries’ following a collision.

A post by Warrington Police thanking Adam has triggered almost 3,000 likes and hundreds of shares and comments.

The post read: “Warrington Police would like to thank Adam Eeles from Ashtons Stockton Heath.

“He is a community responder who put his work on hold in order to provide vital first aid to a male that sustained a nasty injury from a collision with a vehicle prior to the attendance of police and ambulance.”

“The response has been overwhelming,” said Adam, who also runs first aid training for people of all ages.

“I didn’t do it for praise but hopefully others will think about trying first aid.

“This is something I’ve done from an early age.

“I was a hyperactive kid so my mum sent me to the British Red Cross to learn about first aid.
